Defeat in two sets from Canadian Leyla Fernandez ended for the Ukrainian tennis player Lesya Tsurenko performance in prestigious competitions overseas.

The start of the fight in Florida was the debut of a dream for an experienced Ukrainian. Tsurenko started confidently and with two breaks quickly took a promising lead (4:0). The Canadian took two games in a row, putting the squeeze on Tsurenko on the pitch of the Ukrainian. The ninth game was tense. The veteran played a match point against 20-year-old Fernandez, and then twice was close to a break. However, she did not take the decisive draw and lost to the representative of Canada.
Previously, Kostyuk started with a win over Cocciaretto in straight sets. The Italian took only 5 games over two games. In the next round, the Ukrainian tennis player is forced to face the Russian Potapova.
