Amid rising tensions in the Middle East, Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly and Minister of International Development Ahmed Hussen arrived in Cairo, Egypt today for a two-day peace summit. ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Angelena McCord had been at Hiland Mountain Correctional Center for five days. McCord, a Tyonek resident, had suffered a seizure at Hiland and was taken to Alaska Regional Hospital on Sept. 22, when she was put on life support. Eighteen days later, she was taken off life support and eventually died. She was 29 at the time of her death.
