A reliable air defense system (AD) must be created in Russia. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev. According to him, it should ensure security in the special operation zone and at civilian facilities.
“We really need to create a reliable air defense system both in the special military operation zone and for <…> civilian facilities,” Medvedev wrote in his telegram channel . According to him, the whole country is waiting for this event. Medvedev clarified that it is necessary to calculate all the threats to which the sky of Russia is exposed in order to make correct changes in air defense systems.
The UAF attacked Moscow with drones on 4 July. The mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, said that the air defense forces were able to repel all attacks, the 360 channel reports . Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russian air defense systems have shown their effectiveness in repelling Ukrainian drone strikes on Moscow.
